This is what happens when I have everything ready to go and I have plenty of spare time on my hands. Normally crest a fluorescent green to white fade, but wanted to mix it up and try something different this year.

Dumb question but is cresting basically painting an arrow? Do you just use acetone to remove crest to paint new crest?
Any affect on dynamic spine?

Not a dumb question at all, and yes it is painting the arrow. Cresting arrows has been around for hundreds/thousands of years. Armies such as Roman, Chinese and Egyptian would crest their arrows to signify what unit they were in. That tradition has been carried forth to modern times by archers, mainly traditional, that crest their arrows as a way of adding their own personal touch�now the process has begun in the compound arena, but is hampered by the problems of adhesion and carbon arrows. REN got me started into this with a article he posted several years ago and I have been playing around with it ever since. I built my own cresting jig out of some spare wood I had and an old sewing machine motor.
To clean it up, I use my handy vegetable peeler, that I remove fletchings with, to get the top of layer of paint off and then just wipe the arrow with acetone and it comes right off. There is no effect to spine as this never even moved my scale 1 grain�the arrows weighed 430gr before I did it and weighed 430gr after I did it. With a full fade and some stripes added it does add about 3gr, but that isn't enough to effect spine.
