3-D Leafy Suits

I wear the top but not the bottom it likes to hang on to briars. When or if you wear the bottoms tuck them in your boots, it helps SOME with the briar problem.

I wear mine all the time and love it especially when it gets warm...i literally wear just some gym shorts and a sleeveless tshirt under it and stay cool during the hunt. I will not were the bottoms from time to time but overall i wear at least 1 part of the suit 90% of the time.

the key with leafy suits is to get a good one. Bugtammer and redhead ones will not last you very long on average. Some will but overall you get what you pay for.

the Mossy Oak diffusion set is NICE! you can even pack both parts into the front pocket of the pull over.

Anybody here use them?

I noticed you made it to OG.... welcome brother.

I wear a leafy suit any time I am turkey hunting..... seems to help break up the plain human shape.

If you want to get a cheap suit look in the close out section at wingsupply.com (if they still have them). I bought pants and jacket for $15.00 a piece. They are not the best quality but for the money they get it done. Mine has lasted through spring turkey, bow season and fall turkey and still holding up well.

Only complaint is that the briars will snag the leafy and have had some of them tear off.

also to add, be very careful if you wash them. some sets really dont like a washing machine or dryer and can really mess the suit up.

try to hand wash and hang dry if possible.

Someone should find a material to make the "leaves" with that won't catch on briars. I hate them anyway, tore my legs up pretty bad last time I was shed hunting. If you wear long pants it helps but then your pants get caught on everything. A lot of turkey spots don't seem to be so full of the briars as the deer spots are.

I always seem to end up in the briar patches hunting turkeys during the midday hours. I wear thick, double knee, work pants under my leafy suit and carry a lightweight pruner in my pocket. When you're getting close to a birds in a hedgerow or thicket, its more quiet just to cut your way throw than thrash.

I hunted a WMA in MS last season that was just ridiculously overgrown with briars. I've never seen anything like it. In some areas, there was virtually no choice but to cut your way through if you wanted to get off the bush-hogged roads. I hunted there for 5 days, never heard a turkey, never saw a turkey, never heard a gunshot, however, there was turkey sign everywhere. They would just disappear into the briar patches.

Dang sounds miserable to me, especially since they birds all hid in the briars all day...those thorns make really good habitat for the wildlife but only makes it 10x harder to hunt anything out of it. I usually do spook a few deer while shed hunting in the thick stuff though. Couldn't imagine hunting it though...I've only got 2 deer trips and one turkey hunting trip under my belt with none shot so I want to start out in a less overgrown area to get used to the game.

I actually just bought the hunters specialties 3d leavy suit with bugmaster at wal mart in murfreesboro. Been wanting one,.. thought i would try it since it had the bug guard material.
