Ran into this guy yesterday evening. Couldnt get him close enough then. Also had him come in about 1100 this morning, just not quite close enough then. Broke down and used some decoys this evening. Anout 4 pm he showed up again. He was coming in on a string but then broke away, left the field, and just stayed back in some very thick timber. He just stayed there and strutted and gobbled and would not come any closer or even think about coming on out to the decoys. I finally found his head through all the brush, made him pop it up, and shot him at around 40 yards. Farmland flatland turkey (for my county). Time to start taking others, Im done unless one begs me to kill it. 23.1 pounds, 9 inch beard, little over 1 1/4 spurs.
