I will let my buddy Matt post his story up himself on his bird, but after he got his bird we walked around and made a loop through the club and didn't get any responses. I was content at just heading back home and calling it a weekend after 4 days of hunting and getting him his bird, but he wanted to run by some family land of his that turned out to be a good move. I owe him one now. :) The place is only 40-50 acres maybe, but it is a horse farm with some good property around it. We pull up and I get my stuff on and we head out to the "woods". Which is nothing but pretty clear pines really on the backside of it and set up. I made one set of calls and waited maybe 5 minutes and I thought I heard drumming. I am thinking no way this is drumming I am hearing. It gets louder and loader until I KNOW it is drumming, but couldn't see it. Turns out it is coming in a line to me right behind a big pine that is close to me and I can't see around it. By this time Matt is hearing it, but he is facing straight away to watch my back/the open horse pasture. :) I let him come on into about 40 yards and give him a dirt nap. I bet we were not there 15 minutes total. We high fived, took pics of both birds, and made us up some sandwiches. What a great day in the woods, one of the best I have ever had if not the best. I have seen 4 birds die in 4 days, I hope the rest of the season and states go the same way.

Congrats! You can't argue with 3 birds in 4 days of hunting, that is putting it on'em. :)

We did 6 in 8 days a couple years ago, but man the sleep we lost almost killed us. It took me a week to recover.

Congrats man. You're having a heck of a year. Definitely can't overlook those small tracts. I have a 40 acre piece just down the road that is normally full of them. In the last 2 years I've killed 6 on it and my son killed his first.

Thats right. I have a 10 acre track in TN that I have killed a bird off of, it is bordered by cattle farms and when you spot on off of the road in the pastures it is easy to get in tight on them and call them off the fields. Keep that boy on the birds.
