35" bow

What are some good used hunting bows out there with a axle to axle lenght above 35" up to 40" ?

Elite Pure is a 36". I've shot it before at a local archery shop, very sweet shooting bow.

The problem is a significant portion of bows that are that length are more of the target/competition bow variety�such as the Elite Pure, Hoyt Vantage, Mathews Conquest and Apex. The hunting bows continue to get shorter and shorter�I can remember when a 36" ata was considered to be short....LOL.


If I was dead-set on a longer ata bow, I would be giving Hoyt a serious look�specifically the AlphaElite or the Spyder34.

I agree it is relevant�relevant to what you want....do you want not as forgiving, easier to maneuver, quiet and "fast", or do you want extremely forgiving, limited movement, loud and slower. The difference in "hunting" vs "target" bows is fairly wide in my opinion�especially with the technology gained in the last 5-6 years. Comparatively speaking, target bows are often easier to shoot and more forgiving than a lot of "hunting" bows, but they are also louder and certainly not as fast. Now would I take my 40" ATA Conquest to the woods....you bet I would, but only if my hunting and backup were down.

I do plan on goint to a shorter bow in the future. I'm just too much of a tight wad to go buy a new one right now. I am anxious to shoot a parallel limb setup. I'm afraid if I try one now I will break down and buy one.

I went from a 28 " to 32" and really like the length gain . I'd really like to try a 35+ a2a bow . But as some have said I still would like to keep some of the "hunting bow" aspects . One bow I'd like to shoot is a bear anarchy but I want pay what they ask for these new bows .

I have a Hoyt Spyder Turbo which is a 34" bow. There is also a Hoyt Spyder 34which is also a 34" bow with a 6 3/4" brace height. These are excellent bows.
