Hey yall im fixin to start reloading my .357 but have a few questions. What is the hardest, heaviest, deepest penetrating bullet you know of. Hollow points are comepletely outta the question. I need some tough bullets for hog huntin.

Also what powder and how much would you recommend for the bullet you suggest? A friend of mine suggested bullseye powder, but im not familiar with it

Nosler Partition HG,Barnes X Pistol,Although you said nada on the HP,Hornaday XTP 180gr.

All I have ever used is 158 gr and 2400 also. Only shot one
hog with it. Hog had turned and coming back at me. I pulled
the gun and shot without really thinking about it. Hit the hog
in the neck and it dropped.

I generally carry a 44 mag when hunting now.

Well i'm open to try new things as this will be my first experience reloading a pistol. Where could I find some blue dot in the blount co./knox area?

good luck . Gander was out of everything. I don't know if Randy's in ftn. city or coal creek would have any. There's some place in Lenoir City on Main st. that has reloading supplies.
Gander is ALWAYS out of everything. I ask them when they get bullets in and if I go that afternoon they already sold out of what i want(for rifle). I guess its actually a good thing cuz all the hometown shops usually have stuff you want. Gander mountains not had any brass, or much of a bullet selection since.... early november....
