With all the rain we had this spring even with unusually cold temps I never read where anyone mentioned mosquitos. Were they bad once it warmed up?

It was cold most of the season.

^^THIS^^

And I, personally, loved it! We killed birds on a couple of the coldest mornings.

I only hunted one warm day (May 11th) on Priest. They about carried me away, until I cranked the Thermacell up.

I got so used to not carrrying my thermocell this year that I didn't think to grab it when I went this past saturday morning. Huge mistake. I also picked up a tick that afternoon. But that was literally the only day during the entire season that I had to deal with mosquitos and ticks.

I hunted the Miss River and other flooded riverbottoms in West Tenn this season, the skeeters are usually overwhelming. Not this spring, I never once sprayed myself or fired up the thermacell. Towards the end of the season, the gnats literally tore me up!!

I expected it to be horrible last weekend but it wasn't that bad. I think the cold kept them at bay. This week I bet it's crazy

no problem at all in TN for me...

down here in MS was another matter. Went in the swamps along the Pearl river at the end of March and got bitten multiple times on my eyelids and through my long sleeve t- shirt. And that was WITH a thermacell going.
