Just curious to now if it matters on wat grain tip you shoot? I shoot 100 hunting but didn know if it mattered going heavier or lighter

100 grains is a popular tip weight. Shoot whatever grain you can that still maintains the speed you need for the class you shoot. ASA has different speed ratings for different classes. IBO just requires 5 grains per pound. I like a heavier arrow vs a lighter one.

If using screw in tips, 100 is popular...because with the total weight of the insert, the front end of the arrow really has about 115 grains total up front. With a target nibb, you will find a lot of guys (like me) shooting 120+ grains. Heavy tipped target arrows help reduce the stiffness of a target shaft, and also help reduce the effect of glance offs when you hit one of those stupid pin nocks and bushings.
