Is there a big difference between the 4350 powders, H, IMR, And AA? I ended up getting a few cans of AA after waiting for a long time for H4350 to become available. This will be for my initial startup loading for my 06's btw.

They're all right together on the burn rate chart, but still having different characteristics with temp sensitivity and metering and pressure curve.

Thanks guys. What's the difference between them in form characteristics? I believe AA is rod type, but can't remember for sure, but what about H and IMR? Is there that much inconsistency between rod and fine powder types for metering purposes? I know my powder throw "crunches" the rod type on delivery cycle.

Hello MUP-
Yes, there is a metering difference between flake and extruded powders. IMR4350 is an extruded single base powder and it will easily bridge. Wish i had a picture of it, but if you look at most extruded powders you will see sticks of various lengths. The crunch is literally the tool cutting the sticks. It probably crunches the flakes you just can''t hear it.

This is informative:

All the 4350 series are extruded then right?

yes,,and they burn a little different also,,H4350 is a right smart slower than IMR 4350,,you need to treat them as entirely different powders like 4320,4064,and 4895,,

they all work well in certain loads,,nothing bad about either just different,

IMO H4350 flows through a measure better than the other two

Wish I would have known about what you were looking for. There is a little gun store in Riner VA I was in last weekend and could have grabbed you some. Found 3# of Reloader 25 for a friend. Maybe we should start a wish list thread for reloading stuff!
