You can buy it through Archers Den in Franklins online catalog. I haven't checked but I would think that Energy Wave Bowstrings could get some and Poindexters could if they want.

Sweet! Thank you both!

I called Poindexter and he said he doesn't sell just the string but can put new line a bow.

I'm a do-it myselfer, Once I see something I know I can do I learn and do it myself. So making my own string and stringing my bow is coming in a few days.
Thanks again for the places to check!

No,
I seen a video on youtube where a guy used 2 blocks of wood and 2 screws to wrap his strands around (12 of both colors for 24 strands total)
then wrapped the serving around the ends and middle where it was on his old string then took it off one screw head and twisted it to spin the colors and it shortened and tightened the lines so it was the exact length of his old line, then strung his bow.
I was hoping it was as easy as he made it seem???

Easy for some. It took me several strings off a cheap spool of material to get the knots down and I built a couple of strings before I got it perfect without screwing something up. Above are just the very very basics. ANd always twist before you serve.

Good advise , I would also add , don't go by the old string length because of string creep/stretch . Go by manufacturers specs. For string and cable lengths . I'm a DIY guy too , but I'd much rather have a string made for me than try to cobble one up with a makeshift jig .

Will do. I thought serving then twisting sounded backwards but I was watching a video to learn so i'm completely new lol
Looking at the videos if I use the 2 blocks or wood with screws in them and all of the threads in the wood, I can make the length of the specs 56 1/2" long. The guy in the video said you make it 1/4" of an inch longer so when you twist it, it will shorten up just a hair and be the exact length I need? Does that sound right?
So since my string is 56 1/2" long I would make it 56 3/4" and when I twist it, it will measure it again and make sure with twists it is 56 1/2"?

I'm going to go ahead and buy a 1# spool so if I mess up I have plenty more string to just make another one until I get it right.

Thanks for the help!

Heading over to Energy Wave later today to get some string and serving.
Talked to him on the phone for a bit, real nice guy!
By the time you spend money on making a press , string , serving , along with the headaches and more , you might as well just buy a string and cable set and have him do it . Just giving you some advise before you dive in to this . ;)
