Haven't had the chance to hunt for myself in a week but was able to go out alone this morning. Heard 3 on the roost, walked down the mountain to them only to discover they were on the other side of a creek, off my property. I started working my way back up calling with a Gooserbat High Standard Crystal every couple hundred yards. Located this one about 800. He was already in a strut zone on a razorback ridge with hens and wouldn't budge. I just watched through the timber and waited until he strutted away down the ridge and then worked my way in. Made one yelp with the Gooserbat again, the hens worked back in and he was right behind. 20 gauge worked great again at about 35 yards. 18 pounds, 3/4 spurs, 10.5 beard.
