I traded for a beautiful M77 Ruger in 6.5x55 recently. For you Swede shooters - what factory ammo have you had success (or failure) with?

Hands down the cheap PPU 139gr soft points have been, by a long way, the most accurate & lethal factory ammo I've tried in several Swedes. They're still loaded down to 'weak' (🙄) M96 pressures..... but they're noticeably hotter than other factory ammo. Out of my Savage, Winchester & Tikka they've all been around 1½" 10 round groups.

If you really want to get the most out of her though, she's really a reloader's cartridge. I'm shooting 140gr ELDm out of my Tikka, running just over 2800fps. Better than the Creed, not quite PRC. But it's light a light switch for deer. I've run this load out to 1250yds & I'm still maintaining 1800pfs right out to 660yds. That's well inside the operating window for the ELDm.
