Me and Dad both use an 835. His is an early model non ported barrel and mine is 99-2001 somewhere in there ported barrel model. The trigger is very hard supposed to be 8.5 pounds and a long creep. Gotten used to it but wished it was lighter.
Well we done some searching and came upon this company. They offer lots of gun related items but most importantly a set of Springs to lighten the 835 trigger for $14.95!
We both ordered them and it made a tremendous difference in the trigger pull. Supposed to be 4.5 pounds. I'm going to test the poundage, its definitely lighter and it did take away the long creep. I'm very satisfied with it. Just thought I would share because it was such a quick and easy fix.
In the video the installer went a lot further in disassembling the action than was necessary IMO.
We only had to remove the trigger housing. Hopefully this will help someone if interested in lightening their trigger pull.

Re: 835 users

I have one that I use for turkeys and have a rifled slug barrel as well I used in Iowa, so I had a trigger job done by a gunsmith. It helped the trigger pull but not the creep. I wonder if the spring kit could help with the creep without making it dangerous.

Re: 835 users

I must really be the odd man out, my 835 (bought used from fellow board member) has a great trigger pull.
It has me wondering if the previous owner had it worked on.

Re: 835 users

TL - thanks again for starting this thread. I bought a backup turkey gun last year, an older model 12 gauge 500A with 24" bbl for $150. It was the end of turkey season and I honestly did not really look it over because it was such a good price and I had little time to decide. Well low and behold, the trigger on it sucked big time (long creep and heavy pull). After reading your post, I ordered the spring kit from MCARBO and installed it last night. The trigger pull on that gun was reduced from 8+ lbs (felt like safety was on when it wasn't) to 4.6-4.8 lbs with some creep still, but a great improvement overall. I suspect the poundage on the 500A will improve some overtime as the spring is worked. I also checked my 870 last night and it was a crisp 3.6 lbs which I really like.

Re: 835 users

I ordered the springs for my 835. I had a professional trigger job done on it and it still sucks. I hope these springs do the trick.

Re: 835 users

I just put the mcarbo springs in my Mossburg. The trigger pull was 5 lbs before with some creep. That's after a trigger job. After the springs it took out most of the creep and dropped the pull to 4 lbs. which is just about right! Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: 835 users

I just checked the trigger on my 835 and it had no creep at all lol. I bought it used 5 years ago so I don't know what year it was made but it's a NWTF edition with 24" barrel
