If you have the factory spec drilled & tapped receiver..... Redfield has some new 2-piece bases that would be perfect to use with the Burris FF2 red dot:

You get two, so you would have a spare, set up two 870's, or sell one to a friend..... save having to cut down the 1-piece weaver base.....
I may just get a pack of these myself.... There are several places that list them, but most didn't have the pic or were out of stock.
