i just sold one of my turkey guns (benelli supernova) and i still have my BPS 10. i want to replace the Nova with a 870 or 887. i know how reliable the 870 is because i have a wingmaster that my dad bought 30 years ago and a dump truck couldn't haul the shells that have been put through it.

do yall think the 887 will be as good as the 870. it seems to be priced a little cheaper so i wonder if the quality is still there.

I cannot comment because I do now own an 887, but two of my hunting buds do and we have had this discussion. They both said their 887s were made a lot cheaper than their 870s. For what it is worth, both of them are of the opinion that the 887 is not near the gun the 870 is.

I am pretty much a Remington man.... I would buy a Mossberg 835 before I would buy an 887.

Thats should tell you something coming from this guy :) ive owned a couple 870s and both were excellent guns but i love the mossbergs. although the more i play with an 870 the more i want one to keep so who knows i may purchase one before its over. the 887 just look like junk much less feel like it.

870 all the way. I don't even know why Remington made the 887. They already had the best pump shotgun ever made. Why would you try and compete against yourself with another pump shotgun?

My personal opinion is they built it to compete with the Benelli Super Nova, offering a lighter pump gun that will shoot 3.5s and be more economical if you will. After hearing/reading all of the negative reviews, I am like you; you had the best pump ever, why shoot yourself in the foot and put the Remington name on something like the 887?

This, exactly^^^^. The 870 is handsdown a better gun.
