Maybe my first muzzle load season I go dry. I had opportunities to shoot doe. But where I am and time of day I shoot makes a difference for me. Long drive to my processor and this one close you never know when they are open.
I have had a great two weeks off, I will hunt the rifle opener for sure.

I haven't shot a deer with a ML in a few years. I only hunt larger bucks this time of year and when I hunt they are no where to be found. As soon as I go back to work they show up that morning... Still a lot of time left to get one.

had 9 does in the same 3 acre food plot last Monday. 5 different bucks came into the field to check them. I passed a 4.5 year old 7 point that I was supposed to shoot.... oh well, saved him for one of my kids. ;o)

I went again yesterday to another plot / field maybe 400 yards away. I counted 14 does and only saw a little 4 point buck.

Went to another part of the farm today and watched that same little buck (I think) chase a yearling doe around a power line easement for two hours.....

I didn't score a buck this ML season, but sure enjoyed seeing this many deer.

Taking my 14 year old daughter in the morning.... will be her first hunt in 5 years. I probably won't sleep tonight
