A beaver

Sitting in my stand watching a funnel that's created by a wide year round creek and a steep hill. Been hearing and seeing bits and pieces of a beaver playing in the creek all afternoon. I look up to see a bucking coming down the creek. He gets to where that beaver was at and stops in some thick stuff. I have my gun up. 10 more yds and he was gonna be in a shooting lane. He stands there a second and turns and bolts back the way he came. I am 100% sure he dint wind me or see me. He never blew and didn't even run off with his tail up. I'm convinced that beaver startled him.

I'm not saying he was a shooter but I could easily tell through the trees and brush with my naked eye that he had some antlers up there. I'm in shock..

After almost 38 years married, I have had a Beaver ruin more than 1 shot messed up

As quick as I woulda seen that beaver, it would be dead. You do not want them to set up residence. If you already have them, learn how to eradicate them.

Ended up seeing 2 more bucks this evening. They are definitely on the prowl.

Whether the beaver scared the deer or not I can't say, but I would have killed the beaver if you had a chance.
