Went up saturday evening to spend sunday-my birthday with the Duck River Boys, Woodpile Boys, Chapel Hill Boys, what ever you call em?
Stayed at Turkeyburds house and man did he not cook the grub, It was a sactioned MINI VOUS Me, Blue5, Turkeyburd, THE ONE, RNT sitting around eating stuff off the grill tossing some back jus reminising bout the good times!
Turkeyburd and THE ONE tried to put me on one saturday night as well so we was either gonna put one to sleep on the limb or put one to to sleep with the Mossberg!!!!
No Luck!
This Morning I go with Turkeyburd to a Prime Location, we got there plenty before daylight and set our decoys up and get set up, heard plenty of gobbling but none close until a Jake starts up late right over my shoulder he musta seeen us putting the dekes out something?? He flew down without spooking and went aways from us....
Headed down the road shortly after we spot a Tom and Hens in this field...he said get after him you can hunt that!!! Ole; Spit put the Bohemain Slip on this rascal I broke 400 yards into about what I thought was 75 and the blame thing came to my calling behind me and busted me????
Trip to the Waffle House.....Alright (Scott & Jeremy)
Tried to get around on another set of Toms shortly after that and we misjudged the distance and the birds beat us outa the field!!!
I planned on leaving around 2 or 3 but I told Jeremy if we get on some I'll leave whenever?? So we went to another spot I was sworn to secrecy I wouldn't tell and stroll up looking at this big field and he says they should be here....get to the field and as you know if I bring you here Spit and there not there?? O Nevermind there he is!!!
Went down this holler and got up the field edge and there stood 2 longbeards and another blowing the woods down bout 1230 1245 this evening.....They bust us but dont run they jus ease up the hill and are joined by 3 more AWESOME Longbeards I got to watch something that Ole East TN Boy don't get to much?? Then we tried to slip on them and there was 4 Jakes in the edge of the field with the Hens....Ye Wierd huh??? They ease off as well, we get to trying to slip on these longbeards and hear yet another Gobble?? Dang these Boys are covered up!!!! THE ONE says don't woory bout him we get him if these dont do nothing??? The 5 that exited the field together went on down the ridge and I looked at Jeremy and said This ole boy aint going down that cause I dont want to come back up it??? He agrees and we ease down the edge of the field going after the one that gobbled.....get there and he says I dont know Spit wait a minute wait a minute ya I do there he is....I never seen him, he said come on.....we started towards were he seen Ole Boy and got there and it turned out to be 3 More Longbeards too far for a shot except one opening that Jeremy didnt take the shot cause he wanted me to kill, Well Jeremy Ole Buddy Ole' Spit can kill any time I jus enjoy seeing a punishing!!!
Those Toms wouldnt come to the call all evening, I don't know if it was the pressure system cause they would gobble on there own and we would get inside of 50 yards call and they would do anything??
Spit didnt kill on his Birthday but its another memory that will last for a liftime in this boy!!!!
