A feather in Moultries Cap

I bought to M80s last year. One is still working perfectly (on the same batteries I might add), the second had a problem at the end of the season. All the pics and videos seemed to have a white gradient from the right side to the left.


I forgot about it after season and just remembered it a few weeks ago.

I called customer service and they asked me when I had purchased it and if I had registered the warranty or still had the receipt and I said around June or July and no.

I told him I didn't mind a small charge to fix it since I hadn't registered it. He told me to go ahead and sign up for the warranty and send it in.

Yesterday I found a brand new M-80XT waiting on me in the mail.

Good, not great, but good little camera... great customer service... guess I will be buying more...
 
Wow! I have never been able to get an actual person on the phone. Something must have changed since my last moultrie purchase.
 
I used moultrie cameras exclusively when digital trail cams first came out. Lots of problems with their cameras and batteries. Quality was not too good but I always found their customer service to be top notch.
 
Same experience here with Moultrie.Great customer service,i've sent several cameras back and always got a brand new one in return.
 
Not me. I bought the little new moultrie last year. It tore up the second day I had it. Called customer service two different days and never did get thru to a real person. After 30-45 minutes of waiting on hold each time, I said heck with it. Took it back to basspro and traded it in for a stealthcam.
 
In my opinion, a great trail-camera company is one which I never have to talk to their customer service in the first place. Their cameras work.

Exactly! I have a Reconyx that is 3 years running and it works like the day I took it out of the box. My other Reconyx has been the same lullaby. You get what you pay for.

Moultrie anything in my opinion, is sticking your bills into a blender

I agree with your statement, BUT I also think there are other things to consider in a purchase. For example, when it comes to trail cameras, I am not sticking a $500-600 piece of equipment in the woods for someone to steal. I have lost a blind and a ladder stand. The ladder stand I had cabled to a tree with two cables. Too many thieves and vandals for me to risk losing a $600 investment. That's one reason I take my chances with cheaper (and yes) junkier cameras. If I lose a $100 camera - it hurts, but not near as much as a $500-600 camera. But, you are right - as far as quality goes, most of the time the old adage "you get what you pay for" stands true.
