I'm finally starting to get a fair number of bucks visiting my salt licks. I've had heavy traffic with does and, for the past few weeks, their fawns but pretty much nothing but small yearling bucks until pretty recently.
I am terrible with aging bucks this time of year, but this 10 point looks to be mature (at least 4 /12) to me and I would certainly not hesitate to kill him given the chance:
I am guessing this one is not as old, but is probably 3 1/2 and I don't think he would get a pass if I saw him this fall:
I know that this one's posture (stretched out in mid stride) makes it difficult to guess an age, but to me he looks like he may only be 2 1/2, and has great potential to end up with a REALLY nice set of antlers in a couple of years:
Finally, this is an odd looking rack on a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 year old buck - a super short right G1, a long one on the other side, decent length G2's, and just a pair of nubs for G3's:
