First let me be clear.
I do not have an archery shop, nor do I have any interest in this Magnus Company. In no way, do I, nor anyone I know personally, make a penney by this endorsement.
I am writing this again this "pre-season" as a way to hopefully help those who may need to find an economical, well built, good performing broadhead.
My son, my friends, and I have killed close to 200 deer with this head. It is a good head.
I am referring to the Magnus Stinger 100 grain 4 blade head. The Buzzcut works well also but we have found that the blades tend to break a little easier. Probably because they are weaker where the serration occurs.
It is important to note that with these heads, tuning your bow is critical. And with any set-up, bow tuning should be paramount anyway, even for the mechanical head shooters.
Also, I do not recommend this head for those of us who are not into taking MANY shots through the season. If you are one to kill only one or three deer per season, and waste FEW heads if any, or if money is not an object, and you can afford heads costing 12-15 dollars each, then dis-regard this info and "spend at will".
But if you are like us, and money matters, and you want to shoot at LOTS of deer, and can't afford to sling 12-15 dollars a shot...I suggest you consider shot placement being critical (as it should be) and trying the Stinger.
THe best part about this head, other than its performance on deer, even BIG deer, is replacement.
Magnus says they do not care if we "use the head as a can opener" they will replace any and all heads FREE.
Just use it, sent it in, and a new head comes back to you.
It is their "gimmick" and it works well.
