Tennessee dominated the early series, winning their first 10 meetings with Florida over a span of 37 years (191653). The highlight of this period was a 1928 season-ending match-up between undefeated squads in Knoxville that the Volunteers won 13-12. Florida finally broke Tennessee's win streak with a 14-0 victory in Knoxville in 1954, and Tennessee won the return visit to Gainesville the following year. The teams would not meet again until the 1969 Gator Bowl, the longest gap in the series.

Does this look familiar? In the beginning the Vols were kicking the gators around and won 10 straight. The 10 th game of that streak was won by TN by ONE point and then the streak died. Just something to think about.

I knew where you were going but they didn't wear face mask back then and kids back then hung out at the beaches in FL. They didn't have time for football.... :D Times have changed... :)

The history that happens within one's lifetime is the only history that's relevant. All them other years are.....well, just history. ;)

GNB forgot it took them gators 92 years just to even the series. History class back in session.

You missed your calling....shoulda been a Lawyer....or take up arguing with a fencepost. :/ :D

Yep ol gator could argue the termites out of said fence post. Its hard for me to say though that most REPEAT MOST of what hes says is truth regarding football. I have no reason not to believe that ALL of everything else is truth.

In other words, hes OK I guess.

If some of you are posting from your day jobs, are you really earning your pay?

Meanwhile, back on campus at both schools, you can bet your favorite rifle that Butch and Will aren't studying history.

Why, does it concern your wallet?

They better be studying their school history because thats how both schools ended up where they are currently at.

They know enough of the history and know how their programs got to their current state. Well, at least Butch knows.. Little Willie may still be in the state of denial. :D
