I luv me sum water and bobcats.

So I had made a cool set by putting some bobcat hormonal scents on a couple logs and laying them across the water, hoping to drag an interesting photo out of it. No dice on the cat, but I accidentally caught this Great Blue Heron fishing in the hole in front of the camera.

The last photo is just the camera set. Sometimes, it's the unexpected that turns out better than what you were trying to get.

that is some awesome quaility pics for a trail cam
what kind were you using?

Thanks.
It's a Sony P41 homebrew I got years ago from Outdoorbob on tndeer. He no longer makes them, but FIREMANJIM makes them and a host of other cams that take even better pics.

Cool birds they are. Used to hate em for scaring the crap out of me with the squawk and fishing in "my" fishing holes. But I admire their fishing skills. And if I could get an eye transplant from another animal it would be a bird such as an eagle or heron. Good pics too, I bet that was a pleasant surprise to find on the card.

Gil I do like your Rain cover...I do not care how hard you try,you are going to get a leak sometimes...and that could be a 200 dollar leak.

My experience is that even if you have a miniscule leak, a rain cover won't do you much good. The humidity that seeps in can mess up your camera big-time.

The reason I have the cover is to protect the case lens from raindrop distortion. The moisture that collects on the outer lens will dry up eventually, but I'd rather not have to wait. Some of the best pics. can be during or after a rain, and I don't want the pictures blurred because there's moisture on the lens.
