Thought I would share what I have done to add rasp to my pot calls. This may be old news to some of you, but it works really good.

1. Get a small diameter arrow insert. I removed one from an old arrow.
2. Find a decent striker that you don't mind drilling, but preferably one that has the wood you like.
3. Drill a hole into the top of handle of the striker using a bit as close to the size of the arrow insert as possible.
4. Push the insert into the hole until flush. Use a little glue if the hole is too big. NOTE: Be careful not to use too much.
5. Screw a field tip into the insert.

You can screw the field tip up or down to get the rasp that you like and it works really well on almost any surface. Also, different weighted field tips will produce different sounds.

Here is a pic of one that I put together ..... https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ftbdxmhaozepa1/striker.JPG?dl=0

Interesting idea. Reminds me, sort of, calling in a bird using only my striker and action on my shotgun.

You should have kept that a secret and sold it as "the latest and greatest striker on the market".
