Been helping a new turkey hunter this year. So I had not done any shooting before yesterday. Went by myself and lucked out. They wern't gobbling and I happened to see a couple of toms on the edge of I field. I called softy and they came looking. I shot one and the other one jumped on the downed tom a spured him several times. Talk about hitting a fellow when he is down! By the way, results a tom with 1&1/2 spurs, 10 in beard.

Congrats! I had 4 come in one time, shot one of them, and by the time the other 3 were done with him, he didn't have many feathers left!

SORRY FOR THE TYPO IT WAS 1&1/4 AND NOT 1 &1/2 INCH SPURS. MY MISTAKE....OLDMANELROD

I like the 1 a day limit cause it gives more hunters a chance to take a bird on public land. I do however think if your on private land you should have been able to shoot him right of his buddy!

Congrats and seems like every time I've ever killed a bird when there have been multiple toms the other one always starts to whip his butt. My son killed his first on the juvenile and I had to run the other one off before he tore him up because I wanted to have it mounted.
