I almost always set up so that when that Gobbler becomes visible he's 40 yards away. Alot of times when a gobbler gets to where he can see your calling location and expect to see the hen he will hang up and wait for the hen to come to him. I have shot my gun out to 50 and the guns patterns well enough to kill the bird but I like to call them close.
