Aedc fall hunt anyone going?

Just sign in at one of the booths. There is a sign in at the entrance to aedc from 24 and at the check in station. Its also non quota. Probably very few people hunting there this week.

Thank you, Timber! I hate to keep asking questions here if there's something available online I can check, but I don't know where to look. When does the entrance open?

I'm always game for that! I don't know AEDC land at all, but I have a hard time knowing I can kill a turkey and not being in those woods! Are there fields there? With the rain coming in, that's where I figure they'll head. Will the entrance be open at sunrise Saturday?

Entrances are open during the hunting seasons.... few birds and plenty of people... typical of public hunting... NO turkeys on AEDC...

Grizzly, are you being sarcastic? It's funny if you are, I just want to be sure I'm seeing it. If there really aren't any/many turkeys there, I don't want to waste my time.

There are turkey there.... along with people. During the spring, you have to deal with the weekend warriors stopping every 1/4 mile to blow an owl hooter or crow call... If your going to get on a bird, you have to get into the woods and get after them...

I have been working birds within ear shot of the access road and guys ride up, jump out, and use a locator with no answer... they leave and 5 minutes later that working bird sounds off to every other of my calls.

The key is to get there early and get back in there where most typically won't.... Hunt Fridays if you can because most people are working and therefore less competition.

I've hunted out there for going on 6-7 years now.... had my share of good and bad.

Thanks for that info', buddy! Do you know about the fall? I'll probably steer clear of it in the Spring just because I have a few spots that are closer to the house.

I cant count the times guys have blowed owl hooters and crow calls while I was working a bird. Actually had a guy stalk a gobbler I was working last spring and take a few long shots at it. I had been working the bird for over an hour and finally had him coming in.
