Im pretty sick and tired of sitting all morning to hear no gobbling and getting no birds to work. So, I've slept in, and will now venture afield with the hopes that the hens have left the gobblers and I can "April Fool's" me one.

Sounds good. There have been a group of 3 toms that I would see every evening in a field on my way home from work. I never see them in the mornings out there. Of course, since season has opened I haven't seen but 1 or 2 of them at a time. I hope all of them haven't been shot yet.

Afternoon hunting can be just as good and sometimes better than hunting in the morning. I have had many good afternoon hunts. May do that today myself. Good luck.

it was nothing doin' today. saw some birds in the fields driving there and back. couldnt get em to answer to anything. I walked probably 3 miles or so, but I believe the birds were on the other side of the road on private property. Oh well, going to Douglas to fish tomorrow.
