Mega do you give any credence to a Roman nose when guessing age on a buck?

Absolutely, but to me, a roman nose doesn't trump body conformation. I've seen numerous bucks that are 6.5 or older that don't have a roman nose (in fact, most of my old bucks don't have a roman nose), and I've seen a handful of young bucks with a roman nose (due to injury, I guess from fighting?). That particular buck just doesn't look big enough in the front half to be 5.5 to me... but he still has some time to fill out, and could easily add another 30lbs of muscle by the rut (iirc, rut where southern sportsman hunts isn't until early December).

I certainly do look at the face, secondary to the body. I feel it can be a good representative at times.

Obion County. I don't study it with academic specificity, but I would say peek rut is around the last two weeks of November. This time of year I typically pick up a new buck or two each week as they shift range. I usually have very few on camera during Sept. and early Oct.

Yall's thoughts are in line with mine. #1 seems like a prototypical 4 yr old. #3 will be tempting but he definitely looks like a 3.5 that could add a lot with 1 more year. #2 will get shot regardless if if I get the opportunity, but I'm torn between 4 - 5.
