Also, the "mass" that is carried toward ends of beams and including the tines
is another antler characteristic suggestive of the buck being older than 2 1/2.
Hard to tell much about the mass with this pic,
but does look relatively heavy for the last few inches of main beams, as well as the most visible tines.
Last but not least, older bucks with fewer than 8 points have been much more eagerly given a pass by many hunters than bucks with 8 or more points.
I have many times seen fully mature bucks with only 6 points repeatedly get a pass from multiple hunters,
the same of which would eagerly shoot with their first opportunity at a top-end 2 1/2-yr-old with 9 or more points.
Just more reason to think this buck is probably 3 1/2 or older (maybe much older).
