I read it was kidney cancer.

Very sad.
I'm from Millington but graduated 9 years before him. I watched him play a lot in high school. He was a beast. I didn't know what happened to him after college. Sad to hear he died so young. Rest in peace young man.

Former Alabama RB Ahmaad Galloway died from accidental overdose, per report
Galloway was found dead in his home on Jan. 9.

Shocking.. So sad to see any of these athletes making millions then squandering it on drugs .
Do we know it was drugs? My son played basketball against him from middle school on. Great athlete and a good sportsman after each game we won, which was all of them.
Article above says accidental overdose of
"died from a combination of fentanyl, ethanol and xylazine."
Fentanyl has definitely changed the drug game. Playing Russian roulette every time you touch them. Sad deal!
This really saddens me. I posted this on another thread, but my son started playing basketball against Ahmed in the 8th grade thru 12th. It was clear Ahmed was a footballer first, but he was a heck of a basketball player.
After Bartlett, where my son played, beat the crap out of Millington in the district tournament, he told my son that he'd never seen a white boy play ball so good. My son, and I, considered this a nice complement. His Mom was with him when he said it and they both seemed like genuinely nice, grounded folk.
