Thinking about trying an Alabama hunt this spring, any good areas in the northern part that's worth hunting?

Good question!.. doesn't it start earlier there?

Most of the wma's north of Birmingham open April 1st. One in the month east, Skyline, opens in mid March. Tough hunting

March 15th on Tuskegee NF. I've hunted the opener the past two years and have killed a longbeard both times.

I will be hunting there as well. This will be my first time down there.

If I go to AL(don't get drawn for GA), I'll be on the East side at a WMA. Not really east central and not reallly north east.

Also Skyline WMA closes at 1 pm everyday. And it is very tough terrain and hunting. But very rewarding if you have a successful hunt.

Were any of you boys at Tuskegee NF this past week. Hunted Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and yesterday morning. Got my a$$ handed to me by an Alabama Longbeard 4 straight days in a row. No dice. Seen two vehicles on Saturday, a new white chevy 2500 and a black hardtop jeep. Both were parked together and had Hamilton County tags. Was wondering if it was any of you who had talked about going. Had came straight from South Florida hunt to Bama and had not been around internet in 2 weeks, so was just curious.
