First season turkey hunter........ Long story short: I called in a nice Tom yesterday but as he moved toward me about 60 yards out he stopped. Stood there, gobbled and strutted like crazy. He then strutted into the woods and past behind me. So, as I began pursuing him he reached a house's front yard and would not leave. I stayed in the woods away from the home and could not get him to come to.

Why did he go straight to the front yard and continue to gobble but not commit to me?

Also, as I left the woods I walked out right towards him and he never ran just watched me and gobbled as I walked back to the truck. It was like he was domesticated.

Sounds tame or has a yard full of corn and is used to people.

There's no corn so the home owner says. He said this bird has been around for some time

Eating bird seed falling out of the feeder? There's a hen i see every day 2 doors down that does this.
