Western Ky ......Cold water bluegill/crappie fishing. Got daughter up north sending me some wax worms. Those and my ice fishing jigs and floats will produce a mighty fine cold water bluegill/crappie meal or two next week when they get here. Got a local farm pond just waiting on me to show up. Only thing that could make it better is it to be cold enough to make a few inches of ice on that pond so I am not limited to fishing off the dock, and that is not going to happen here. Photo to follow later next week.
I have to laugh each time I need wax worms in the winter. Bait shops around here carry them in the summer but say they can't get them in the winter, Up north they are a mainstay for ice fishing but available year round. Just a hassle to get them shipped south.

I was deer hunting up in Ohio with my dad last weekend. Filled my tags and went straight to the pond with some wax worms. Caught a mess of fish just off the bottom.

Edit: I sometimes find wax worms at Sloan's in Vonore, which is nice.
