sure scare the crap out of you when it bolts from its hiding place.

Dad & I were trying to get a little closer to a gobbler this morning. We were easing down the side of a ridge and the bird was somewhere further toward the bottom.

I thought it was a bobcat at first and had swung my gun because I wasn't sure it wasn't pouncing toward me. I then realized it was trying to get away and saw it scurrying up the ridge. It could move pretty good, so it must be a few days old.

Fun to see but I would have screamed.

I'm not a generally spooky person but I don't enjoy things jumping out from under me or running towards me in the woods. I knows there are leopards, Tigers, and chupacabras where I hunt so I'm on edge :D

Thanks for the info Andy. I thought it was 2-3 weeks early for this area.

June 5th I think is the average drop date in middle TN.

Its crazy the range of conception dates. I seen one last deer opening week of KY that couldn't of been more than 2-3 weeks old.
