we got out of the truck this morning to 3 different birds gobbling. heading towards the back of the property, we ssaw/heard some birds fly down, gobbling as he went in the other direction. i let out a few soft yelps and he sounds off even farther away. everytime he gobbled i would call and he would answer, farther away. after hearing nothing for about 10 minutes, i let out another series of soft yelps and one bird gobbled down the holler in front of us and another on the ridge to our left.closer!!! not another sound for 10 minutes. after another series of soft yelps, i caught movement about 100 yds. down the holler. here he comes!!! silently watching down the barrel of my gun, he got to about 75 yds and stopped. that's as close as he got as 2 more toms joined him and they walked off.
