I could have shot this buck in my underwear Sunday morning out of my back door. These pics are from the first week of bow season.
 
I'll let him walk. He's got 11 scoreable points. If he's a 2.5, I'm praying he makes it until next year.
 
I've kinda given up on trying to pin down a certain age as it really is just a guess that is dependent on so many factors. Instead I have 2 categories for deer.

"3.5 OR younger" (probably pass)

"3.5 OR older" (probably shoot)

Another way to think about it is - would you say this deer's maximum age is 3.5? Or is this deer's minimum age is 3.5"

I think everyone on this board would agree that deer's "maximum" age is 3.5, or he's "3.5 OR younger"

I find its much easier to judge quickly in the field with this method. It's 2 options instead of 4 or 5.
