I went this morning with the intention of calling one in for my buddy but it just didnt work that way. Very early one gobbled way up the mountain so we took off after it. We ended up getting on his level and working our way to about 75 yards or so while he was still in the tree. I waited til I saw him fly down then made a yelp and he gobbled. Then I yelped twice more over about a 20 minute period and he worked his way in to about 40 yards gobbling several times along the way. We couldnt see him due to some brush but I had my buddy covering the front and the right where the flat came around. But instead the gobbler circled left and downhill right to me. I knew he wouldnt have a shot so I shot him at about 30 yards. 19.15 pounds, hair under 11 inch beard, hair over 1 inch spurs.
