Hey fellers I jus noticed that there is quiet alot of pressure on my bottom string suppressor, and after about 7 days of shooting it it is taking a pretty good beating!!

Is there anyway to adjust these or is my bow jus shooting hard and thats part of owning one???

Spit

They do show some wear , but too much wear could be from string creep . Check the ATA and see if it is still in spec. If the string creeps , it will lengthen the ATA , shorten the brace and cause the string suppressors to contact the string too much .

The supressors that come from the factory, especially yours Spit because your would have been one of the first out, are made of a very soft componud causing your problem. I had the same problem with mine and contacted Mathews Tech dept. and they admitted that the original ones are too soft and they have since come out with a harder compound version that will hold up better. Check the Forum at Mathewsinc.com and you can see this is not a rare problem. Here is the email that was sent to me. Hope this helps ya. Cya in the morning!!

***There is a new suppressor finger that has more material on the back side to cause the suppressor finger to recover faster, that is correct. I will send you a set of new suppressors direct via the address below.

True, BUT you also need to check the ATA and make sure it's on. No matter how hard or soft it is, if the specs are off then it's going to eat it up if it's pressing to hard againist it.

Yes, you and Radar are right about the ATA, I was just passing on the info I had. Spit, also for what it is worth I had about 600-700 shots on mine and noticed the string was almost outside the alignment hole on the bottom cam, it should be dead in the center of it. The Barracuda stock "pre-stretched" string had indeed stretched more. That was the cause of the cam rubbing the bottom string suppressor if you remember the pics you sent me of yours that you took for me. I had that corrected, but the supressors are still taking a beating from the string and the bow is in perfect tune. I'm gonna switch the one's I was sent a few weeks before season opener.

Steve Flock at Mathews is a great guy! Put your bow back to spec and give Steve a call and he will send you some new string suppressors.

Are you guys refering to the Reezens? If so ill pass on a bit of info that a great tuner passed to me. Instead of timing the cam like Mathews shows to do it throught the big hole use the little hole above it and time it like you would on the other mathews cams stretch a string from the axel to the small hole on the outside of the bottom cam and twist or untwist the cable to line the center hole up this will put you slightly out of center of the large hole but will gain you better performance and not be as hard on the surpressors
