Hard earned by my buddy, we've tried this group multiple times this year. He must have gotten kicked out by the other 2, and was lonely at 8am this morn, after the main group made us look stupid off the roost. 20 min hunt from the time we struck him with 75 gobbles and he met his maker.

20.5lbs, 10.75in beard, 7/8in spurs. Got completely soaked yet again this morn. Stopped raining after we shot him.

Made it back to MS, will make a post with the whole trips shenanigans. Prob 3 if the craziest and most exciting hunts I've ever had on this trip. LOTS of humble pie eaten by me and my friends.

Wish I could have one of those hard earned birds on a 20 minute hunt!

I've taken him 5 days plus hes hunted 3 more by himself. He put his time in and miles in his boots. He def earned this one

No doubt! Sometimes those 20 minute kills are days in the making. A few years back my cousin and I chased these 2 longbeards for 3 days. They wouldn't even listen to hen talk and they were always together. We nicknamed them Elton John and Boy George. The 4th morning my son got to go with us. We watched them fly down, made one call, and they came running in like they'd been looking for a hen for weeks. My son and I doubled. Funny how a day can make all the difference.
