Over here in this forum, people don't argue their tails off about limits, dirt, genes, season length, blah blah blah. We talk turkey and have a good time. :D I haven't killed a deer yet, and would love to get one this fall, but really why are we so worked up about just producing consistently big antlers and forgetting about the hunting part?

Nobody here (that I know of) is trying to grow 14" double beards...

OK I'm done for now... all I see in the serious deer hunting forum are threads with a debatable subject and 1,000,000 heated follow-ups.

I'm going out tomorrow morning for a turkey.

amen man, i just went ape**** over there because of all the arguing. i cant stand it and i love deer hunting too. all i gotaa say is im going in the woods 4 straight mornings starting tomorrow!

you missed hook in his prime catman lol.he got worked up over limits.

Ate my crow and moved on with regards to the spring limits. Still mystified by the fall stuff, but it doesn't seem to be having an impact on the population here as of now.

Folks and the deer stuff, are far too sensitive on either side.

Good news here, is that other then jakes the majority of hunters are happy with any long beard, whether it be 2 or 5 years old.

I agree. Deer stuff has really gotten blown out of porportion BIGTIME ! I grew up deer hunting and all of the arguing and consistant negativity has really made me resent it and the people that are die hard deer hunters. The money advertising and marketing has ruined the sport. Makes me want to kill every one year old buck out there just to piss them off.

I think, before we give turkey hunters too much credit here, we should consider this.

There isn't a whole heck of a lot of difference between the average 2 year old gobbler and the average 5 or 6 year old gobbler...a little bit longer spurs, that's about it.

With bucks, of course, there is a TON of difference. That is what causes deer hunters to start slashing one another's throats over ways to grow bigger deer...but I agree, it gets old pretty quick.

One of the reasons I love deer hunting over duck and turkey. You know the caliber of the trophy before you pull the trigger. I agree that as hunters we are hurting ourselves by fighting though. If its legal I support it.

i understand wht you mean, but when that dominant gobbler comes in front of you its obvious, and we have to shoot turkey from closer distances so we get a good look at them too. but i do know what you mean, deer hunting is still awesome

I'm not meaning turkey hunters should get all the credit. I think yalls responses are appropriate. I'm just sick and tired of all the bi^^#*& deer hunters, and all of the fighting amongst each other. The attitudes of today's deer hunters IN GENERAL SUCK. They've forgotton what the hunt is all about. They may say or Know what its supposed to be about but do not practice it.

This is one of those topics I like to see because I hope the deer hunters eventually figure this out down the road (because you sure can't beat it in their heads now). THey are making others miserable. I just don't understand why people can't be happy for others. I honestly, whole harted would rather see a person with a great hunting attitude pull the trigger on a monster than myself any day. Some can call that Bull but I'm dead serious.
