The more deer I look at the more confident I get with score guessing them and the less confident I get with aging them accurately. I don't actually know how old he is. Definitely 3.5 or older as this is him last year, but his sheds went mid 160s last year and I just don't see a TN 2.5 being that big. His body looks really young, but he also didn't jump in size like a 3.5-4.5 typically would (which doesn't mean much but I figured he'd be well over 170 this year)I'm gonna guess he is an unhealthy old deer on the way down. But there ain't much to go on
I've got one weekend to hunt him as far away as I live now. I've decided to let someone else hunt him this weekend with the weather being as nice as it is and realizing the other deer I put him on wasn't nearly as big as I first thoughI'd say plenty old enough for a photo session with you! Good luck!
I'm thinking this exactly... body size says 2.5 to 3.5, but he doesn't carry his frame like a healthy middle age buck. He is either old and on the way out, or middle aged.I'm gonna guess he is an unhealthy old deer on the way down. But there ain't much to go on
Now I'm torn (not that I'm good at aging)The more deer I look at the more confident I get with score guessing them and the less confident I get with aging them accurately. Last year
I've been torn on my guess with him as well. I'll post pics if I get anymore. He doesn't show up very much this yearNow I'm torn (not that I'm good at aging)
His body says 3.5 at least in last years pic but he still has an older look in the eyes to me. Not something I can really explain and I may be off
