Any idea what class card to use in Moultrie cams? I can get a class 10 SDHC 16 GB Card on new egg for like $15. Im not sure why the cam companies sell there cards for 4 times that price.

I would check to make sure the camera can accept the new SDHC cards. Some technology cannot read the newer HC (high capacity) SD cards. My Windows 98 laptop and desktop computer cannot read the HC type of SD cards.

The instructions state you can use up to a 32 GB card. Ill check the website for moultrie. The last ca I bought was in 2002. From all the reading I have done and the pics people post on here im excited to get my new camera out. And thanks BSK for the tip on the windows 98 and the newer sdhc cards. I guess I will have to use my new laptop instead of the old desktop in the man cave.

The higher your card in GB, the slower your camera, use the smallest card you can get by with. It slows your cam down to much.I like to stay around 2 gb.neverfilled it up yet.

Standard SD cards only hold up to 2 GB, so if they say you can use a 32 GB card, then it will read a SDHC card.

I had a friend that had the card problem in the Moultries. They told him the Moultries wouldn't work with SD cards, only with SDHC. He's got about $200 worth of worthless cards.

That's good info. Thanks! Didn't know that standard sd cards go only to 2GB. Guess ill probably go with a 16GB from newegg. If it doesn't do right I'll use it in my canon camera.
thanks for all the responses guys.

my Moultrie M80 only works right with a HC card - if I use a standard SD card the plot cam pictures look like infrared film, black & pink instead of black & white. SanDisk cards work best for me, avoid off brands.

The Bigger the card you use the slower your camera will perform
Use the smallest you can get by on,I know that a homebrew will slow down dramaticaly with a large card ...I like to stay under 1 GiG with the older Sony;s...I mean you will never fill a 1 gig up unless you plan on leaving it out a month or so.I get several hundred pics. on a 512mb.
