Any one bowhunting?

Just wondering,who's going to bow hunt for turkeys this spring?Count me in.

I've thought about it, I've got a old recurve that I would love to take a bird with but considerin the eye's on a turkey are so sharp it would be hard to pull off, but talk about some braggin rites if I did.

what he said. I dont have as much time to hunt as I would like. So I like to have the best odds possible.

I tried it last year(longbow). the first opportunity I had with the bow I had forgotten to throw the shotgun on my back for backup. I missed 2 times one the same group of 3 toms. the next morning I missed again but before he figured he better run the 12GA BPS finished the job.

i will go for it again this year. with backup of course.:grin:

Its a lot of fun,gun or bow,but the bow for me is a lot more sport.Its not that hard if conditions are right,but it is a little harder to carry a bow around than a gun.

I'm going to hunt with the bow more this year. I've shot 5 during the fall and have yet to kill one. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've hit them all over the body. My luck will change eventually, but looking forward to the season.

This year, other than my 6 year old gettin a bird, its my main goal. I've already turned the General down to 60 lbs, switched sights and tuned him up. I do alot of shooting from different positions and holding at full draw for minutes at a time because I know that it will pay off. You never know which way he will be coming in or how long you will have to hold at full draw. Shoot! I'm getting pumped up just thinking about it.

I'm going to get the chance to hunt several hundred acres that is absolutely full of birds that only one or two people hunt from time to time due to the fact that its bow only. I worked there this summer and saw 10+ gobblers a day. I can't wait!!

just my .02... anyone wanting to hunt with a bow for these guys I would set up a different bow or slow it down. I had luck shooting a 50lb bow, and the larget cut diameter possible... get out and schwack em... Good luck guys
