Got drawn for the 17-18 hunt and have never set foot on the place. If anyone is going or has any pointers on the place It would be much appreciated. Give me a shout,PM,smoke signals, or just anything.

Thanks,

I will never be back, went with good weather and never heard a bird, some can kill em every day on here someone will show you a light!

Been there once, never again. Hope you have more fun then I did, and I even killed a bird. The road hunting idiots drove me nuts, everywhere I went it was a constant parade of cars driving around blowing locator calls, and every time a bird would answer the parade would march through the woods. It was quite miserable.

I did end up finding some seclusion and called a hard gobbling 3 year old bird down the gun barrel to his death.

At first, I didn't draw, then, I did. I also have the April 17-18 hunt. I wasn't upset when I didn't draw because the public land I hunt, is loaded with turkeys if you can get away from the 4 wheelers. Then, I got excited about about getting drawn the second go around. All of a sudden I read this,

If this is the way it is, I'll be just as miserable as Setterman. I'll still go. I would hate to take the hunt away from someone else, but maybe I'll pray for rain.

Nobody jump off the ledge yet, things could have changed alot since I was there, and I do believe many of the roads may now be closed due to security which were open when I was there. It might be a whole new deal now. I think the place I hunted was called Bear Creek or something like that.

Plenty of places at oak Ridge to get away from the roads so if you don't want road hunters around you get away from the roads. The birds don't gobble very good there for some reason.

I drew the second go around. I will go and give it a try but if there is that many hunters riding around trying to strike a bird it wont take me long to head back to Hawkins co.

Ive been seeing alot of birds on my way into work. Been on midnights this month so its been about 5:30 when I roll in the gate. I work off 95 at the first d.o.e. site off of interstate 40. The birds have been on the fenced in property but you never know whare they go after I see them. Good luck to all
