After 2 seasons with a single pin Black Gold Ascent I'm thinking about going back to a multi pin. The single pin is excellent in most applications where I hunt but would like to go back to a 5 pin and do a 25,35,45,55,65 sequence. I would definitely stick with Black Gold and likely get a Black Gold Vengence.

Why not get a multi pin head for your Ascent? The AT guys do that quite a bit.

I'm trying to decide whether I want a CBE or Axcel or maybe a Black Gold with .010 pins. My wife's bow has the .019 pins and they are so bright it puts off a halo that looks like .040s in sunlight. Great sight though. Let us know what you decide.

I did. I liked where the single pin didn't clutter up my sight picture as much. However, I don't like the idea of having to hold over and under a deer, or having to try and adjust the thing with the deer there. I know you can find a yardage where you can hold in the middle of the deer and be good from x to x yardage. I just like putting the pin where I want the arrow to go. I never did have trouble picking the right pin. I did however, shoot at a turkey with my single pin that I thought was locked down at 20 yards. It was actually locked down at 25. I guess either sight has their advantages/disadvantages. I just like the multiple pins better.

I first tried a single pin back in the 70s.Had it mounted on a Carrol 1500 if i remember corect. It had a finger hole for your index finger to pull or push the pin up or down.Went to multible pin model after one year with it.Didnt like it then and dont want to try one now.

I swapped back to multi pin two seasons ago. I was also tired of having to hold a little high or a little low. My shooting improved dramatically at live animals because it made my confidence so much better.

I shoot a multi pin also because of I dont want to move a single pin setup and have to waste precious seconds adjusting or worse forget to adjust.

I shoot single pin for 3D (adjustable), and multi-pin for hunting because of all of the various variables that I have/may encountered over the years.

i'm just the opposite.

I thought about going to an adjustable single pin sight a couple years ago but I didn't like the thoughts of a single pin in certain hunting situations. I have never had a problem with a fixed 5 pin sight.

Picked up a 5 pin Black Gold Vengeance today and very happy with it. Only got to shoot 20 yards this evening but got plenty of time till next season to get spacing how I want it. I'm thinking 25,35,45,50, 60 or 25,35,45,55,65

I went from a single to a multi pin and then ended up back to the single pin. Personally, I haven't had a problem with adjusting the sight while hunting as the majority of my shots have been within 25 yards while archery hunting. Additionally, I shoot the single pin much better.

I'm trying a 5 pin this year also...hunted with the HHA single pin the last 3 seasons (and love the sight) but too much thinking when a deer comes walking in!
