Well thus far I'm doing pretty well at seeing deer. Last year I saw 3 all bow season and they were in the same evening at the same time. This year I've already seen 7 different deer. BUT all I am seeing are does and fawns. In the last couple of hunts I've seen two different button bucks...and they've both been alone. I thought that was kind of odd that they would already have been rooted away from the other deer. I coulda done killed if I would have wanted a doe or fawn but for some reason I'm being patient and waiting on a buck.

But anyway, other than that I've not seen any antlered deer. How bout you guys? I've only got to hunt the evenings thus far and all but one of the deer were seen around 6:30 p.m. EST. The one I saw this evening was about 5 o clock p.m.

IMO they are all shooters. just a matter of what size a person wants to shoot.

I've only see one buck and no does last weekend. the buck was a young 5 pt that I have caught on the trail cam several times. I had already decided not to shoot him. too many good ones on the cam to shoot him early in the season.

Had three come through, one behind the other and larger as they went. First looked like a basket 7, the second and third were mature deer. The last looked mid 130's. Unfortunately being the wise buck they were they skirted just inside cover at 35 yards and never gave me a shot. Plenty of does milling around. When the bucks wondered off I took the doe that gave me a shot.

Man I don't know what the deal is. I have been moving my stand to keep things out of pattern for me, just playing around in areas on our place that I have either killed or seen deer in the past. Well thus far I've seen deer in every one of them. This evening I had a little bitty and I mean LITTLE button buck walk all over my setup. I bet he wasn't 60 pounds on the hoof. I could almost still see faded spots through my binos. WHY ON EARTH ARE THEY ALREADY BY THEIRSELVES?! That was the only deer I saw. He got within 5 yds of my stand and saw me when I waved "hi" at him. I leave my coon hunting/deer blood trailing light laying at the base of my tree and I was afraid he would step on it or try to eat it. LOL.

I'm not seeing any mature deer at all now.

Now, THAT'S a funny thought!

I haven't seen ANY bucks, NOR have I seen any buck sign. It could become very depressing come rifle season. :(
