anyone carrying their bow turkey huntin?

i was sitting here thinking if i wanna carry the bow or shotgun on opening day. last year i missed two with my shotgun so i dont think i could do much worse with my bow. if any of you are carrying your bow what kinda broadheads yall use?

I use a bow , but you need to change tactics with a bow because of the movement of drawing a bow will spook them .
I use slick tricks .

yeah i was planning on using a pop-up blind if i carried my bow.

I have a hard enough time connecting with a shotgun.

I will be carrying mine but since both weapons are legal, the shotgun will be over my shoulder(or in the blind I should say) just in case the bird doesnt come close enuff for the recurve.

I've never hunted turkeys with anything but a bow. I've had more success hunting from a blind. I use a fixed blade such as Slick Trick along with a good mech head such as Spit-Fires. You need to study the anatomy of a turkey well and understand the best shot placement. On top of it being small, they're kill zone is much different than a deer.

Had plans to last year but never did. If I can bust one with a shotgun I might give it a try this year.

One thing that helped me was to commit to picking up the bow first and not using the shotgun for the first bird . It's easier to kill them early with a bow before they become educated or hened up .

Use whatever you use deer hunting because all that really matters is a good shot. My first 2 were with Muzzys, my next 10 were with Spitfires, my last one was with a Slick Trick.
I don't use a blind but probably should because I get busted mosted of the time. I just prefer moving on them a little.

This is where I struggle. I want to fill one tag before trying the bow...............................Most of the time I never make it to that point.

All I've ever used for turkeys is a bow.. Going to the dark side and trying a shotgun this year!
