A skeet load or a cheap shotgun shell just in case a extra close shot is needed?
After what happend last year I think I am going to put one in my vest.
I helped the brother call in a gobbler last year and he had to shoot through some brush but we didn't think it was a far shot. Turned out to be about 40-45 yards. We thought he hammered him though! He shot and the turkey flopped for about 15-30 seconds and then went still! We sat there for a little while because we had other turkeys gobbling but nothing ever showed. So we went to get his bird and I went to reach for his legs to pick him up and the dang thing jumps up and starts running circles around us! He finally put another shell in him but if we would have had a skeet load or something he wouldn't have had to use another turkey load. Of corse something like that may never even happen again.
Whatcha ya'll think?
