Anyone ever hunt the Goulds Turkey?

If the program takes, you may be able to kill one out west. I read in a turkey hunting magazine a while back, there was a program started in the mid-western states. They were trying to establish a population of the Goulds turkey so hunters wouldn't have to go into Mexico to bag one.

Let me know when you get ready to go and I will make the trip too. I would also like to do the Oscellated while I am at it.

???? Goulds have been in the US (New Mexico, Arizona) for quite some time

Maybe it was the Ocellated Turkey then..... it's been a while since I read it, and it was a turkey you couldn't hunt in the states I know for sure.

yekrut did you ever book a TX hunt for this year?

Nope, we decided to go back to KS and NE again this year. I'll have to make a TX trip some other time, but it is on my bucket list.

Yes they are in the US, but the best I remember the NWTF does an auction for like 4 tags a year or have in the past and that means it would be much cheaper on YEKRUT to go to Mexico and get both while I am there. :)
